„At a time when so much divides us, the Düsseldorf Carnival sends a powerful message of community, openness, and solidarity.“ This is how the Comitee Düsseldorfer Carneval e.V. describes the 2026/27 season motto with great anticipation.
We get it: we stand by our culture and we stand by Düsseldorf. We—the Förderverein Düsseldorfer Karneval e.V. (Düsseldorf Carnival Support Association) and Löwensenf GmbH—have realized and jointly decided that Mostert (mustard) and Carnival belong together: the sharp words of the Hoppeditz and the (extra) sharp mustard belong in the same pot—a Düsseldorf mustard pot!
And so, we present to you the first joint edition in what we hope will be a long series. An edition in support of the carnival traditions of our city, Düsseldorf. An edition dedicated to preserving Düsseldorf’s Mostert (mustard) tradition.
